As the SHIFT Summer Cohort - 2022 is coming to an end, I feel equipped and ready to go out into the world and make an impact, both in my personal life and the entrepreneurship industry. Furthermore, after being given a chance to experience what happens behind the scenes in making SHIFT possible and interacting with the staff, nothing could have made me happier as my leadership skills have grown.
One of the interesting topics that we discussed over Week 5's Think Accurately was on distractions. Distractions are enemies of success, not just in the entrepreneurial world, but also in personal life. To build up something substantial, you need to remain focused on the task at hand and do it to completion to achieve the desired results.
Getting away from distractions can help you think clearly and focus on your inner thoughts, which can help you listen to your intuition and improve your performance. Unfortunately, our modern world mostly prevents this from happening. This is where the presence of mind comes in.
The presence of mind is a bridge between your intelligence and feelings. It allows you to connect both of these elements to create balanced energy for any situation in life. The ability to recognize your feelings and thoughts and to foster greater consciousness is the presence of the mind's most significant function.
With the presence of mind, you can remain attentive at the present moment. In certain ways, it has an advantage over a mind solely thinking of the long future. That's only because you can't accomplish long-term objectives without putting in the work now. You must give everything you have to whatever you're doing
right now if you want to succeed in life. And to me, this is a major stepping stone in an entrepreneur's journey.
For my final thoughts, I would like to sincerely thank the entire SHIFT team for putting together the Launching into e-commerce program, especially the founder, Ethan Brisby. This program has nurtured and given me both the space and the knowledge to build on my business, 360° Interiors, an interior design business based in Nairobi, Kenya. Cheers to a beautiful ending and an amazing beginning.
Yvonne Kiambi.
I have sat back and watch Ethan’s dream come true. Although as a mother, I would love for him to be in driving distance from me. BUT God’s will be done. I don’t have to tell you guys that are and have worked with Ethan(E. J. As I call him) you are getting a jewel!!! He has a heart of gold and will give you the shirt off his back. He was created for the mission that God has him on right now.
