Preparing for your first trip to East Africa

This course is specifically designed for African Americans and other members of the diaspora who are preparing for their first trip to East Africa, with a focus on Uganda and Kenya. It covers all the essential aspects of travel preparation, including cultural awareness, logistical planning, health and safety, and meaningful engagement with local communities. The course aims to ensure travelers have a rich, culturally immersive, and safe experience while visiting East Africa through the SHIFT Tours program. This course consists of 6 modules spread over 5 weeks. Each module includes interactive lessons, quizzes, travel resources, cultural immersion exercises, and live sessions with SHIFT Tours guides who are based in Uganda and Kenya.
